Hi my name is Daddy Skippa, i am a DJ born and bred in a small town called Wolverhampton of Jamaican parentage, 13 miles outside Birmingham, West Midlands, UK. I started djing at the tender age of 10 with my late uncle who had a vast collection of great songs I would play at parties selecting my favorite songs over and over again not knowing that this going to be my destiny, fast forward after, I left school still loving the music which I’d collected on cassettes that I still have to this current time in storage.
It’s been like serious medicine over the years growing up but this was happening to me and couldn’t stop it so it all took shape in the year of 1982 when my brother decided because of our vibes for music why not start playing at partys to see how we get on, the first couple was a massive success, that it just grew from there then decided to buy our own equipment and started to play all over the uk partys ,carnivals , and some great clubs then after 4 years my brother passed .died in a car crash and from then deciced to carry on regardless. did a lot of music competition up and down the country won numerous trophies over the years in that time went onto radio stations doing my shows up and down the country and travelled internationally playing all over Europe and Africa on a regular basis, e.g. Gambia – I was the first reggae DJ to play there in the early 90’s for the President, the rest is history.
2019 now and I’m still here giving people enjoyment and pleasure listening to good music all round.
I’m looking forward to joining the ‘Anything Goes Tuesdays’ experience, every Tuesday 1pm-4pm GMT and hope to see you all soon.
Thanks, God Bless ..DADDY SKIPPA.
